On October 13, 2016, Dr. Eayrs gave a speech to commemorate the Timberwolf Garden’s One Year Anniversary, which gathered a handful of individuals to celebrate the milestone.

It has been one year since the establishment of the four garden beds, each with unique plants and crops that cycle throughout the year. To celebrate, Dr. Eayrs, the Chemistry and Physics teacher and the advisor of Physics Club, gave a speech to look back on the struggles and the successes that stemmed from their hard work, as well as plan ahead for the future of the garden.

“I plan ahead for better things in the future,” said Dr. Eayrs.

After his speech, Eayrs handed over the attention to Tehreem Khan (11), who discussed her opportunity to decorate the tree stumps.

“I first started off by woodburning,” said Khan, who never wood burned before. “Dr. Eayrs then had the idea to use paint instead.”

Drake Ramstead (10) attended the commemoration as part of the audience listening to the speech.

“I felt that the speech was very inspirational and further motivated us to expand the garden,” Ramstead said.

From building the beds to designing the stumps, the garden continues to thrive and gain more attention. Staying after school and coming over on the weekends, Dr. Eayrs works hard to keep the garden growing and thanks to his dedication, as well as that of other students, proves that the Timberwolf Garden is something that SECA students can be proud of as a whole.
